The rules of the road.
These terms govern access to the Acorn API, hosted coordinator, and related beta services. A practical draft for pilot use, still subject to lawyer review.
1. Service scope
Acorn provides a hosted coordinator that accepts transcription jobs, prepares audio for distributed processing, dispatches work to enrolled workers, and returns merged transcript results. During beta, uptime targets, supported regions, and rate limits may change with notice.
2. Account responsibilities
Keep API keys confidential, restrict access to authorised personnel, and notify Acorn if you believe credentials were exposed.
3. Acceptable use
No unlawful material, evading privacy or wiretapping laws, attacking the service, or submitting workloads that would damage shared infrastructure.
4. Customer data
You represent that you have the rights and permissions needed to upload audio and receive transcripts. You retain ownership of submitted content and resulting transcript.
5. Fees and pilot pricing
Pilot pricing, credits, and monthly budget caps are defined in your partner record or written pilot agreement. Usage is measured by processed audio duration and related billing records.
6. Availability and warranties
Acorn is offered on an "as is" and "as available" basis during beta. Transcription output may contain errors.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Acorn is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages.
8. Termination
Either party may stop using the beta at any time. Acorn may suspend or terminate access for policy violations, security incidents, non-payment, or material misuse.
